FAQs
Disabled access
The event is held across various fields, beacuse of this the ground is uneaven and can be soft. If you are used to these conditions in your chair then acsessibilty will be ok, we don't reccomend participating if you arent confident in outdoor conditions.
That said, we are delighted to let you know that the team at Beach Wheelchairs in North Berwick have kindly agreed to support us in making our Balgone Sunflower Trail as accessible as we can this year. We will have two Beach Wheelchairs available for use which will hopefully make manoeuvring around the trail for wheelchair users a little easier. Availability of the wheelchairs will be limited but we hope that this will make a difference to some.
The details: We will have one small sized Hippocampe chair (to fit approximate age 2-12 years). See more information on the Hippocampe chairs here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ETP3OdaVCgA We will also have a Debug chair which is an adult manual chair. It has a fixed footplate and swing-away arms for easy transfer Each chair will be available to be booked for a 60 minute slot There will be no hoist availability on site, so users must be able to self-transfer or be transferred manually by carers Availability of the chairs is limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Email david@balgoneestate.co.uk to book a slot. Bookings will be taken on a first come, first serve basis
Booking can be made here https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=20501848&appointmentType=68910254
Can I bring Dogs?
Dogs are very welcome around the lakes provided they are on a lead and are fine in crowds/ with other dogs. We have a marked off area inside the patch that is dog free (for the pumpkin patch).. Please collect any dog fowl along the way. If your dog is not so good with crowds or other dogs then we'd reccomend not bringing them. Dogs are also welcome anywhere at sunflower trail but following the same advice as above.
