Barista / Senior Staff

Job Summary: Barista / Senior Staff @ Herd Cafe, Balgone.

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Barista to join our team at Herd Cafe. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, ensuring that each customer has a positive and memorable experience. The Barista will prepare high-quality coffee beverages, maintain a clean and inviting cafe environment, and provide excellent customer service.

We are looking for two candidates to have additional responsibilities by running the day-to-day of the cafe, adding week-day opening times in addition to our weekend provision.

  • Greet customers and take orders in a friendly and efficient manner.

    Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos, following standard recipes.

    Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders.

    Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café, including workstations, counters, and seating areas.

    Manage cash register transactions, including taking payments and providing accurate change.

    Restock supplies as needed.

    Provide information about the café’s menu and make recommendations based on customer preferences.

    Handle customer complaints and provide solutions in a professional manner.

    Adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

    • Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role preferred.

    • Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods and equipment.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
