The Haunted Trail

Something unique, an addition you can only enjoy at Balgone. Our Haunted Trail takes you on a 2km adventure around the beautiful lake situated at the foot of a sharp cliff face. The countryside at its best with a Halloween twist. Keep your wits about you as all kinds of ghosts and ghouls could cross your path.

When the thrill of the day catches up, our expansive catering zone awaits with a diverse range of food & drink vans to quench every craving. And worry not, our spacious stretch tent is prepared to shield you from any Scottish showers.
The Crooked Cauldron

Would it be Halloween without a trick or treat? Make sure you visit the Crooked Cauldron and get your share of the treats with toasted marshmallows on offer by the lakeside. The trick is to make sure you win the favour of the witches!

The Patch

Balgone Estate is thrilled to announce the return of the grand Balgone Pumpkins experience for its fifth consecutive year in East Lothian. At Scotland's largest pumpkin patch, enjoy an expansive 10-acre patch, home to a mesmerizing collection of over 60,000 pumpkins & squashes in 27 distinct varieties.

Pricing will be based on the weight of the pumpkins ranging from £1-£10, we are pleased to announce we have lowered our pricing thanks to new machinery making pumpkins easier to grow & nurture.

Culinary squash makes for a hearty meal, however, if you need a little inspiration take a look at our recipes on offer here.

We plant our pumpkins in May time and this year, after some heavy watering and weeding they flower and the pumpkin begins to grow!

From gaint spiders to flying withes, there’s a wide variety of spooky sights to see. Each year we add to the trail so come and see if you can spot the new additions.
